Ssangyong Stavic: 11-seat people-mover revealed

The wraps have come off the new 11-seat Ssangyong Stavic, with the freshly styled people-mover making its international debut in its home market of South Korea.
Teased in a set of sketches late last month, the second-generation Ssangyong Stavic takes massive strides forward in design, with the original car’s bloated styling superseded by hard edges and tight lines, creating a more assertive character.
The sharper exterior design is matched inside by a more modern cockpit with a centrally positioned instrument cluster, large colour infotainment screen, and a range of new trim colours and materials.

The Ssangyong Stavic will initially be offered with a 114kW/360Nm 2.0-litre four-cylinder diesel engine paired with either a six-speed manual or five-speed automatic transmission. A 3.2-litre V6 petrol will also join the line-up at a later date.
Ssangyong’s Australian distributor, Ateco Automotive, says it is working hard to bring the new Stavic to local showrooms before the end of 2013, and is currently considering both drivetrain options.
The outgoing Stavic is one of Australia’s cheapest people-movers, with a starting price of $27,613.
